Built at Bartram's yard in Sunderland in the 1960's and possibly the last vessel to be completed by them because delivery was delayed. Similar in some ways to the Canterbury Star class, but with the addition of a 150 ton Stülcken heavy lift derrick. She visited Liverpool on her maiden outward loading and a great deal of painting and other necessary finishing jobs were still outstanding, so she didn't get a good start to life. Keith Bradley sailed as Chief Engineer on her maiden voyage.
