Reputably the last vessel to be carrying the Blue Star funnel was photographed in November off the north coast of Cuba where she killed a few hours by stopping and launching the lifeboat. At the present time she should be on the New Zealand coast.

As usual, many thanks go to all those who have submitted photographs for inclusion on the website, including Ken Berry, Jean Selleck, Mike Boulton, Andrew Barker, Norman Gandy, Peter Stacey, not to mention Wallace Trickett’s fine paintings to enliven the website.
Finally apparently another year has slipped away. Though a snapshot of the newspapers would reveal little apparent change, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Blair/Brown soap opera. No wonder 5 million UK citizens have voted with their feet and reside abroad. The politics may be just as laughable, but at least the sun shines more often.
Like many, the home has become a place of noise and chaos (not to mention the dirty washing) on the return of the boys from University. The shopping is nearly complete and all that remains is to wait for Christmas.
