Gangway Volume 2/19   December 2005

Best Wishes to all Gangway Members

Another year seems to have slipped quietly away. Sadly it will be remembered for the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, the Kashmir Earthquake, Hurricane Katrina and terrorist bombings in various parts of the globe. So when we are tucking in to our Christmas Lunch, remember those whose lives have been shattered and still have inadequate shelter or the basics of normal life.

Once more I must thank all those correspondents who have donated photographs for display on Blue Star on the Web. Particular thanks go to Alan Gillies, Bernard Duchemin, Calum MacLeod, Dave Barnicoat, David Bell-Lennan, Dave Payze, Dick Young, George Edwards, Gordon Pigott, John Suddes, Michael Harry, Peter Stacey and Wallace Trickett.

Particular thanks must go to Wallace Trickett for his wonderful paintings that have added to the site and his generous gift of the painting of the Tasmania Star. For those interested he is currently working on another series of paintings that will be published as postcards next year.

If my input to Blue Star on the Web has been lacking or I have been remiss in answering emails it is because my working days are spent at a keyboard these days and the evenings demand other matters.

Lastly may you all have a wonderful Christmas, whether it is a traditional northern hemisphere one, or a barbecue in Australasian sun.
